Looking for a winter mooring near London? Available from 5th December 2020, A 100ft mooring available to buy freehold or rent from landowner on a beautiful spot on the River Medway. Just 20 minutes walk from Maidstone (with shops, transport connections etc), but on a quiet and tranquil part of the river. The mooring comes with two strips of grassy land. You may moor your boat there and have exclusive use of the land plot provided you maintain it in good condition.

This could be leased as two separate plots of 50 feet. Maximum vessel length 100 feet or 30 metres. Maximum vessel beam 20 feet. There are friendly neighbours with Dutch barges and narrow boats and many handymen nearby to assist in repairs on your boat. There is room to park a van or car on the plot without additional charge. There are three fixed steel mooring rings and also two long scaffolding poles to which you can attach your barge to keep it a fixed distance from the bank. The entire mooring front is steel and stone gabions and planked wall.

There is also a water supply from a well on the land. The water has been tested and found potable but you are advised to satisfy yourself as to water quality. There is a water point at Allington downstream with pump out and all facilities like rubbish and showers.

There are pubs within close walking distance.

With solar panels and a composting toilet, you could live a great total off-grid life on this mooring. There is also a long electric cable fitted to a shed to place a generator away from the boat should you wish.

No need to pay Council tax.
