Ellida is a Saltram 40 Saga, she is a classic Blue water tiller steered cruising boat. Her last owners were a family of 4 who maintained her well, and she has been in a vessel care program since her owners left. We must say that she has looked after herself very well too, even in the wet season. We are happy to send current videos.
Ellida of Laira is an all fibreglass version of these usually wooden decked boats, and she has an extended coach roof. She has 2 double berths, and the 2nd head in the port aft has been currently converted into a storage area, but can easily be restored to a head again. All plumbing is still in place.
Ellida has a lovely sea motion that instils confidence in big water. From the owner’s manual… "The Saltram 40 is designed and constructed for extended voyages where conditions may exceed Wind force 8 and significant wave heights of 4 meters and above.”
The designer states…”This type of vessel is unashamedly a cruising yacht in the true sense of the word. No rating rule is incorporated in her make-up, and because of this she has no vices and time will not put her out of fashion. As no effort has been made to skimp on weight or quality of structural material, she will have a long and useful life”.
